After losing a big fish the day before, the group’s spirits were tense. With the trip nearing its end, the pressure was on to land a good catch—anything less would be heartbreaking. We hit the water early, with everyone crossing their fingers for a big one to take the fly. It didn’t take long before Kerry hooked into something! He fought the fish with care, and soon enough, he gently guided a beautiful largemouth into the net, erupting with joy. The whole crew was thrilled. We ended the trip on a high, with several more largemouths caught in those final precious hours.
