Chasing Golden Yellowfish in Lesotho
What a week it turned out to be! Amid laughter and competitive banter, the group netted an impressive number of yellowfish. Team Dean, Lu, and Wheels led the charge, leaving the Benoni boys—KJ, Mike, and Ed—playing catch-up. The friendly rivalry added an extra spark, inspiring everyone to fish with skill and determination.
Thrilling Moments on the Water
One unforgettable day saw the group fishing the entire stretch from the dam up the river to camp. Though Mike struggled in the morning, he made an extraordinary comeback by landing 16 smallmouth yellowfish in just two hours. His guide’s net got such a workout that it eventually broke—a testament to the action-packed afternoon.
Trophy Catches and Triumphs
KJ landed his first Bokong brown trout with a spectacular cast, flinging it 30 metres behind him after a sharp strike. Lu also etched his name into the record book by landing the only yellowfish over 60cm on a dry-dropper rig—a prize-worthy feat.
