Tanzania Tigerfish 2017: Week 10

It was with slight trepidation that we welcomed Seb and his crew back to camp this season. Having had a blow out 2 years ago, and on the back of a very tough week 9, things were looking ominous. However, as their arrival day drew nearer, the weather forecast looked better and better as the unseasonable rains that affected the outgoing group seemed to be on their way out. There was a collective sigh of relief when we received reports of dropping water levels from the guides in camp.

This was the 2nd last week of the season, so spirits were high as the conditions got back to normal, and the guides team welcomed old friends back into camp. And, boy did the fishing come on. After two relatively tough weeks, both the Mnyera and Ruhudji’s tigerfish were back

on the feed and hunting with Gusto. Five 20lb+ fish were landed this week, with the biggest going a massive 25lbs.

We will let the pictures speak for them selves. A big thanks to this great team of anglers from SA, UK and Aus. It was a pleasure having you all back in camp. Looking forward to many more adventures with you all.

The upper Myera really fired this week. Some great fish were landed, but many were lost as well. Just the way it should be when fishing to large Tanzanian tigerfish.
